A FEW QUEENS

A FEW QUEENS

I’ve been slack behind the lens recently. And slacker yet in getting images and words onto the blog. But here are a few shots from an outing the other day with Luke on his boat Machete. While I was quite rusty and ended up knitting – I fluffed my first few shot and even put a fly into Luke (mortified!) – for the first part of the day, Luke was on fire pinning almost every fish he cast at.

And we had mint conditions though, with the queenfish doing their best milkfish impersonation, milling around catching the warm mid-spring sunshine! It was a matter of spotting them, gliding the boat up and putting a cast into a shoal. If your cast was on, so were the fish!

Queenfish lolling around enjoying the first spring warmth.

The gif of the above sequence! Bobbers was on fire, nailing pretty every fish he sent a fly towards…

I, on the other hand, took a while to dust off the out of practice casting arm and get a couple of notches!
