Distractions

This week at The Mission:

We gawked at the Evo-X skiffs from East Cape Skiffs, eight of which are now in use at Alphonse. Chosen for their 17,9 ft length, comfortable ride and ability to pole, these beauts are kitted  out with all the bells and whistles from leaning posts to bucket seats, watertight hatches, polling platforms and you can be sure they will be equipped with a beer-packed YETI cooler or three and all the guiding kak praat you can handle.

We listened to The Too’s and also Portugal. The Man’s single Feel It Still on repeat.

We tied up some gurglers.

We read about the morning ritual of Mr Everest, Pete Athans.

We added the books Hunter S. Thompson thinks you should read to our list.

We dug in to “The Legend of Lefty Kreh” from Garden & Gun. LONG READ.

What’s short, fat and smoking hot? The Medio Siglo, Cohiba’s first new cigar in 15 years. It’s admittedly pricey, but a worthy petit robusto if you’re in Cuba celebrating after jumping a tarpon or three.
