FOAM TURNEFFE CRAB: STEP-BY-STEP FLY TYING

FOAM TURNEFFE CRAB: STEP-BY-STEP FLY TYING

I’ve been playing with Turneffe proportions and materials the last day or so, particularly hoping to substitute deer hair for spun foam and micro ultra chenille for the round rubber legs.ย  First test was with sheet foam and didn’t quite look right.ย  Today I managed to find some 0.5mm beetle foam (?) which I was pretty excited about due to its translucency and reduced buoyancy.

Pretty happy with how they came out. (please excuse the picture quality, I wasn’t expecting this to be a success and used my old cell phone)
