Food for thought

This video has been doing the rounds for a little while and is really interesting. And although it’s not directly related to fishing, the concept can be applied to any eco system. If you put the impact in reverse and then consider what we are doing many of our South African estuaries by removing the dominant predators – think Cob, Leeries, etc (and even big steenbras and spotted grunter), its yet another reason why we need to practice catch and release on a far greater scale AND to bring about awareness to its importance.
