BROWN TOWN – LESOTHO BROWN TROUT

BROWN TOWN – LESOTHO BROWN TROUT

When you think big brown trout, far away places like New Zealand and Swedish Lapland come to mind, but Yaqoob Tarmohammed of Jozi Fly found them close to home. Semonkong Lodge on Maletsunyane River (upstream of the tallest single-drop waterfall in the world), is a place to find pristine waters and healthy Lesotho brown trout.

“On the literal last cast of our trip in Lesotho as the evening was rolling in, the distance this fish traveled to engulf the fly was impressive. The wake, then sight of this stunning girl (who I assume was a chunk a season ago) ran me up stream 3 times…”

    • It is truly amazing, a mere 5-6 hour drive and we find ourselves in one of the most breathtaking places in Southern Africa, with the opportunity to fish for and hopefully catch some big wild Brown Trout in pristine rivers…
I have been fishing Lesotho for many years and the feeling every year is always like the first time, it doesn’t get old and I haven’t even scratched the surface of what’s on offer….
