Just when you think wading in deep water can’t get any cooler, Patagonia pushes the waterproofing envelope yet again. In the history of fly fishing gear development, female aligned products have often seemed like an after-thought. The rugged and hard-wearing Women’s Swiftcurrent™ Expedition Zip-Front Waders are certainly an exercise in RnD on the brands behalf. Rather than simply ‘feminizing’ current men’s products, these waders, amongst other kit, were developed from scratch, designed for women, by women.
Their “most reliable and fully featured” waders features a front zip (as the name suggests), complemented by quick-release suspenders and rear-buckle system, both providing easy relief. A waterproof pocket on the chest helps keep all those gadgets safe and dry, alongside hand warmer pockets for momentary knuckle relief out in the cold. The wader legs are secured by kneepads and anatomical booties.
