The Simon’s Town harbour is known for frequent great white and Cape yellowtail visits, but this tuna visit is brand new news to us…Thanks again for sharing Tudor Caradoc-Davies!
The question is what species is that? Is it a juvenile bluefin with weird colouration due to the shallows and being over the sand or is it a lost longtail/northern bluefin? Tuna experts?
I suspect this is an Allthunnus fallai (Slender tuna):

Yep that’s a slender – they come out between the snoek even up the west coast North of Dassen
