Small Stream Fun

Small Stream Fun

Last weekend I spent an awesome morning with Ryan Weaver harassing the inhabitants in one of the tiny streams that he has access to. With a broken mounting on my camera I had a mission getting any decent photos but here are some…

It was great being on a tiny stream again. The challenge and focus is so different to the fishing I have gotten used to in the past few years. It requires a certain amount of finesse and lots of creative thinking to get flies into good feeding lies. In typical Cape Stream fashion, many of the best lies and pools where overgrown and kept one thinking outside of the box in terms of casting and presentation.

Bow and Arrow casting, flop casts, tight roll casts and dipsticking were the order of a very fine mornings fishing.
